First thing first, know when and where to shop!

When to shop: Your best bet is first thing in the morning when the store opens. This ensures that all merchandise is on the floor and nothing is in the fitting rooms. Post COVID-19, clothes have to be sanitized and can take 24 hours after a customer tries on an item to be put back on the floor.

Rumor has it that Nordstrom Rack gets new inventory on Tuesday. I can’t declare that this is accurate but ask your local Nordstrom Rack employees! It may be different at each location.

Where to shop: This is a BIG secret. Write this down. You want to shop in the “direct from Nordstrom” aisles. I’m going to get more into this later. But trust me, this is really important and where you are going to learn to find the best deals!

How To Get The Best Deals At Nordstrom Rack

This is where we are going to learn the difference between tags. The tags are so important and will let you know if you are getting a true deal!

The secret is that if you see Nordstrom Rack tags you are actually not getting a good deal.

The nordstrom rack tag will say “Nordstromrack” instead of Nordstrom.

Here is where they trick you. The “compare at” verbage just means that somewhere in the world there is a clothing item that looks similar that is priced at “said price”. They slash that price on the tag as a marketing scheme to make you feel like you are getting something on sale. You’re not.

I avoid all of the sections with Nordstrom Rack merchandise (which is a big chunk of the store). These items are made for the outlet so they are made with cheaper materials. There is nothing wrong with shopping these items- they are great prices! You just aren’t going to find designer deals.

Now, this is the type of tag you want to find. See how it says Nordstrom and not Nordstrom Rack? That means it came directly from the Nordstrom store. This is where you are going to find the best savings from the best brands.

These items are located in the “Direct from Nordstrom” section. This is my favorite section and where I spend the majority of my time looking for items. They also have “Designer Row” where you can find high-end pieces like Gucci and Saint Laurent.

Pro tip: Not all Nordstrom Racks are made the same. Usually the best ones are located near the best malls in the nicest neighborhoods.

If you have more than one Nordstrom Rack in your area- check them all out. There will be different inventory. You will end up having a favorite!

Best Time To Shop At Nordstrom Rack For The Biggest Savings

The best time to shop is during the Clear The Rack sale! They do one almost monthly! It’s usually at the end of the month but it can vary. The give you an additional 25% off already reduced merchandise (which everything in the “direct from Nordstrom” section is already red-tag clearance – so you will get an additional 25% off).

This is seriously the best time to shop!
