Simple Work From Home Routine. I think everyone is trying to adjust to working from home. Currently, one of my puppies shrieks unless she gets to sit in my husbands lap while he takes business calls. It’s cute but I’m worried what’s going to happen to her when he goes back to work!
As we are all adjusting to this new work from home routine I wanted to give you some ideas. I follow this schedule on the weekend when my sole purpose is to work from home for my side hustle. During the week I don my scrubs and head to the hospital to work as a nurse.
I have to be really productive on the weekends to get everything done for my “Christinabtv” brand. It takes a lot of hard work, discipline, and mostly a schedule to keep me productive.
Simple Work From Home Routine
6:00am Wake-Up
I wake up at 6am brush my teeth, take my puppies out, feed them and play for a bit.
6:30am Coffee-O-Clock
I start my day by making a cup of warm water and lemon. It flushes out your toxins from the day before and helps build your immune system. Watch what healthy habits changed my life and my mood. I make my coffee and head to my laptop. I usually open my laptop and briefly check my analytics, reply to comments on blog and youtube, and skim any important emails. This takes about 30 minutes while I finish my coffee.
7:00am Brain Dump
I pull out my Louis Vuitton agenda and start by brain dumping everything on my to-do-list. From here I organize the list based on what needs to get done ✅ I ask myself “what will give me anxiety if I DON’T get this done today” and then make those my top priorities. I always pick 3 things that MUST get done. This can be done the night before, but I tend to think of new things after I get my coffee buzz so I like to do this in the morning.
7:30am Organize Schedule
From here I take my to do-list and create a schedule. I make sure to schedule everything including a lunch break. These etsy planner inserts are what I use.
8:00am Workout
I do a quick workout from home. I’ve been doing no equipment routines from Madfit’s youtube channel.
8:30am Brekkie
Breakfast: I usually make a smoothie so I can add my adaptogens which enhance my mood and make me feel like a rockstar. I’ve been loving beauty dust and power dust. I’ve also been incorporating chaga which is high in antioxidants and promotes a healthy immune system (something we all need right now.)
9:00am Get Glam
Shower/get ready. If I’m not shooting photos or video this takes less time because I don’t put on any makeup. If that’s the case I will start my first big task at 9:30am.
10:00am Most Important Task First
Start with my most important task- this will be one of my top 3 priorities. I allocate however much time it will take to get done.
11:00am Next Important
Move on to the next task! This usually looks like editing a video or creating a blog post. These are longer tasks that require an hour and a half to two hours.
12:30pm Lunch!
Lunch time! I always give myself one hour to eat lunch and relax. It’s really important to recharge. I tend to lose creative energy later in the day so I make a matcha green tea with coconut milk before heading back to work.
1:30pm Not as Creative
Move on to the next big task- but maybe not as creative as my morning task. I try to complete my most difficult tasks in the morning. This might be something like creating my weekly newsletter.
2:30 pm Limited Brain Energy
This is where I take the time to do something that doesn’t take much brain power- scheduling Pinterest pins with tailwind.
3:30 pm Learning
Learning time! If I have recently purchased any classes to learn a new task related to my goals I use the end of the day to complete it. I give myself about an hour and a half.
5:00pm Plan for next day
Feed my puppies! Take out any dinner that needs to thaw. Use this time to plan for the next day (brain dump), recap what didn’t get done, answer emails, post to Instagram. I use the last hour to wrap up the day.
6:00 pm Prep Dinner
My work-day may end but now it’s time to cook! I use this time to do laundry or empty the dishwasher while I’m preparing dinner. I enjoy cooking because it let’s me be creative.
7:00 pm Wine and Dine
Have a glass of wine (some nights) and enjoy dinner with my husband. Play with the puppies.
8:00 pm Netflix
Catch up on whatever I’m currently watching. Right now it’s Ozark
9:30 or 10pm Bed
I’m usually ready for bed at this point! Goodnight!
Hope this daily routine work from home schedule brings you some insight!
