How To Look Pretty When You Feel Ugly. We have all been there. Some days you don’t feel pretty. Heck, some weeks I feel like the hot mess express. Don’t get down on yourself. I gurantee evern supermodels feel that way at times.
Give yourself some grace. We are women, we have hormones, we are emotional beings. It’s ok to be in your feelings. Just don’t let them make or break you.
I have 5 tips to help you look pretty even when you feel downright ugly. It’s not magic, but it feels like it!
How To Look Pretty When You Feel Ugly
One: Start with a good nighttime skincare routine
This will do so much for you! Not only will your skin be happy but it will help your overall appearance which in turn will lift your mood. Clean and clear skin will do wonders for your emotional well-being.
Here are some skincare products I swear by that give me happy, healthy, glowing skin.
Two: Avoid sugar and salt
Ok, I may not always take my own advice on this one. When I’m having a sh*tty day or just feel ugly all I want is a warm chocolate chip cookie or salty french fries.
However, what you really should do is avoid salt and sugar. It can cause bloating and acne which in turn will make you feel even worse about your appearance. Not to mention it packs on the pounds.
Here are some good alternatives: healthy protein bars that taste like donuts (and aren’t packed with artificial ingredients). Get your sweet fix without processed sugars. I also like to make smoothies or eat a baked potato with the fixings. At least it’s a vegetable instead of french fries!
Three: Get to the root of the cause
Why do you feel ugly? There is something triggering this thought process and you need to get to the bottom of it. It really just comes down to changing the way your mind works.
Tell yourself you are beautiful. Make it a habit to tell yourself everyday 3 things that make you beautiful.
Don’t be hard on yourself. There are enough challenges in this world and your mind, body, and soul all need to be on the same page.
You’ve got this.
Four: Invest In Yourself
Do something (even if it means financially) that will better yourself. Take a class to further your career. Learn to do an activity you have always wanted to do. Take that vacation you have been craving! I have tons of travel inspiration. Experiences make you feel beautiful.
You can also do simple cosmetically enhancing things to make yourself feel pretty. Plan a spa day with your Mom or girlfriends. Go to drybar and get your hair washed and styled. Treat yourself to a luxe mani and pedi. I guarantee that afterwards you will have a boost in self esteem.
Five: Wear a killer outfit
Nothing can turn your mood around than a cute outfit that people can’t stop complimenting. Your feelings of being ugly will dissipate.
