How To Feel Better About Yourself: We all need motivation. Sometimes I just feel sh**ty, how about you? There are days that I can’t stand looking at myself, days I have little motivation to do anything, or am just a basket case of emotions. This is especially true when I have PMS. It is just the worst.
I know if I go through this, others do too. So I wanted to give you some tips on how to feel better about yourself – even if you feel look like a hot mess.
How To Feel Better About Yourself Instantly!
Get dressed for the day
Get dressed. Action leads to motivation. Not the other way around. Sitting around in your pajamas all day won’t motivate you to do anything but be lazy. If you put on an outfit that you feel good about, your mood will shift. An elevated mood will motivate you to get your day moving!
Wake-up and makeup
I always feel better when I have some makeup on. It makes me feel more confident. If you are like that too, apply makeup even when you aren’t in the mood. Your mood will shift and you will instantly feel better about yourself.

Nothing like a good caffeine buzz to make you instantly feel better! If caffeine is something you don’t drink than try a herbal tee. There’s something psychological that goes into effect when you are holding a warm cup of joe in your hand. The caffeine also leads to mental alertness which helps you instantly feel better!
Hit the gym
I know, it’s hard. However, all you have to do is show up. Once you show up to the gym your legs will start moving on the treadmill. Before you know it, you burned 200 calories and you can treat yourself to Starbucks. Plus, working out releases endorphins (the natural chemicals that make you feel good!)
Eat a Treat
I always say life is about balance. What’s the fun in life if you can’t treat yourself? Eat some chocolate (releases endorphins to your brain) and enjoy your life. This is a quick fix to help you instantly feel better. Plus if you went to the gym, you won’t feel guilty!
Call a friend
There’s nothing like talking to an old friend, a good friend, any friend! Laughter is good for the soul. Personally, I love to call my best friend when I’m feeling down. She always makes me laugh and helps me get out of my funk.
Take a bubble bath
Taking a bubble bath is a great way to decompress. It releases tension in your muscles which will help you feel better. I love to listen to audible on my phone with a glass of wine and use epsom foaming bubble bath. Heaven!!
Do your nails, get a haircut, bask in the sun (use sunscreen!) or get a spray tan. A little bit of self-care allows you to give yourself some much needed self-love. It’s important to take care of yourself, love yourself, and nourish yourself. If you don’t, who will? No one will treat you as good as you treat yourself.
Online shopping, anyone?
A little online shopping never hurt anyone. Well, I guess it could hurt your bank account. Just be responsible! Set a budget, and then pick out something you have been wishing for. This will help make you happy for the rest of the day. Personally, I love to shop here and here. When I want a good deal on a luxury piece I go here.
