Honestly, it doesn’t even matter..
There is too much hoopla around the Holidays. When I was a child I thought Christmas was the best thing ever. I woke up early in the morning, teared open my gifts, and sat on my pile like the Queen of Christmas and basked in all the glory. As an adult, there is a lot of responsibility and tasks that go into making Christmas magical. There is a lot of pressure to buy the “perfect gift” and be the best Aunt ever, or the most amazing Santa.
I think Santa wants wine instead of milk
Christmas shouldn’t be stressful, but it is. I just want to remind you that you shouldn’t go into debt over Christmas, you shouldn’t feel obligated to get people you don’t care about gifts, you shouldn’t be pressured to do anything that doesn’t come from the heart.
If Santa was real, I’m pretty sure he would want wine instead of milk (hopefully it’s ok to drink and sleigh) because just imagine the pressure to make every household a perfect Christmas? Ugh, no wonder he packs on the pounds! I feel you, Santa.
Why no one cares about your Christmas gifts this year
The people who really care about you just want you to be happy and healthy. It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on a gift, or if you give a gift at all. What matters is how you show your appreciation and affection to your loved ones. It’s the little things that matter. If you can give someone an amazing gift then do it! If you can’t, just tell them how much you love them this Christmas.
Christmas has become this crazy superficial holiday (and I’m totally guilty of buying into the hype) but take a minute to be thankful and grateful for the blessings in your life. Let’s get back to the joy of the season. Be nice to strangers, donate time or money to those in need, play nice in traffic, be a human being. No one cares about your Christmas gifts this year, we all just want to be happy. Happiness makes for a much more peaceful and joyful Christmas, for you and everyone around.
Oh, you want to know what I’m wearing? (This is a fashion blog after all)
