Travel guide to Palm Beach
Why is this called the Insiders guide? Well, because I have been fortunate enough to spend many holidays, weekends, and lived on Palm Beach island. I have been going there as a child because my family owns a home on the island. Even my engagement party was thrown at our Palm Beach house. I grew up in Miami, FL which is about an hour and a half south of Palm Beach. My Aunt & Uncle are snowbirds and live in Palm Beach half of the year. My Mom now joins them because she is retired.
Point being that I know the ins and outs of Palm Beach. For our anniversary I asked my husband if he wanted to stay at The Breakers. My cousin got married there and I have been to the hotel bars many times but never stayed as a guest. I thought it would be fun to stay at The Breakers as a hotel guest!
Where to Stay in Palm Beach
The Breakers
If you are looking for a glamorous hotel with fine dining, bars, beach access, a private spa, and a candy shop well then this is your hotel. It is truly a spectacular hotel. We stayed in August for our wedding anniversary and their prices are cheaper during the summer months. Pretty much any hotel during the Summer in Florida is discounted because it’s off-season. The season starts in October and usually ends in May.
The Breakers is a 5-star Hotel and you will get a five star experience. The hotel is over the top with glitz and glam with chandeliers and beautiful decor throughout the hotel. There is also ocean views from many of the restaurants. Their Sunday Brunch is insanely over the top (more of that below!)
Other hotels in the area are:
- The Brazilian Court
- The Colony Hotel
- The Chesterfield Palm Beach
- Palm Beach Historic Inn
Where to eat in Palm Beach
Pizza al Fresco
Pizza al fresco is so good! They have this cute little courtyard that’s so pretty with flowers and staircases. It feels very European. We got the mushroom pizza to share along with an appetizer that had fried calamarri and vegetables. The appetizer wasn’t great (too salty) but the pizza was really good. For Palm Beach, the prices are reasonable and this is a more “casual” spot. Casual in Palm Beach standards 🙂
Piccolo Gelato
Have you ever been to Italy? This gelato will take you back. It’s not quite the same but it tastes similar to the gelato in Europe. This place is really close to Pizza el fresco (a few feet away), so it’s the perfect sweet treat to end your lunch.
Echo
Echo is owned by The Breakers. This is a few miles from the hotel but the The Breakers offers a free shuttle to take you AND pick you up from the restaurant. This is perfect if everyone wants to drink or you don’t have a car with you. This place has really great sushi and the drinks are strong!
Sunday Brunch at The Breakers Hotel
Sunday Brunch at The Breakers is insane! It’s over the top with gourmet treats, lobster, egg stations, meat stations, cheese platters. It’s a total glutenous adventure, so come ready to eat. You do not have to stay at The Breakers to participate. Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s are included. It costs $120 per person (plus taxes and service charges). I feel that its worth the money and its great for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, girls weekend.
The only other Brunch that I have been to that is as extravagant was my trip to Chicago. That brunch didn’t have alcohol included but was less expensive than The Breakers.
What to Wear in Palm Beach
Obsessed with this look! This glitter bodysuit is just everything. I wore this to our dinner at Echo. I will be wearing all of these pieces individually and creating so many different looks!
Rompers are my favorite in the summer. This one is really comfortable and stretchy. Looks great paired with some of my favorite wedges.
Pack swimsuits for Palm Beach! The island is surrounded by water so you will want to head to the pool or beach and soak in some sun.
This fun dress was what I wore to Sunday Brunch. Some of the cutest shoes with bows!
What to do in Palm Beach
Coffe and Cafe: This macchiatto was so cute and made for me at Sunday Brunch at the Breakers. Some other places to get a cup of coffee:
- Cafe Boulud
- Green’s Lunchenette
- Starbucks
- Peet’s Coffee & Tea
Shop at Worth Avenue: The most luxurious and amazing shopping! Worth Avenue is arguably the best shopping in the US. They have everything from Chanel to Hermes and fine dining and fashion events. It’s an absolute must! There are also beautiful flowers and fountains everywhere. Worth Avenue honestly feels like you are lost in some tropical oasis in Europe.
Beach & pool: So many oceanfront resorts and beaches. There is a public beach if you are no staying at a Hotel. The ocean is incredible and worth finding a place that allows beach access.
I hope you enjoyed my Palm Beach travel guide, for more travel posts head over here.
