What to wear in Santorini
What to wear in Santorini? I’ve got you covered.I had the most amazing time in Santorini on my honeymoon. My husband and I traveled to Greece for a week and a half and we spent most of our time in Mykonos and Santorini. Wedding planning was crazy and this honeymoon was a much needed stress reliever and celebration! The weather in Santorini was really nice! It was warm but not too humid or unbearably hot. It was in the 80’s and went to the 70’s at night. We traveled in August right after our wedding. August is Santorini’s most popular month. I created a fashion travel guide- so keep reading!
What to wear in Santorini: Dresses
Dresses are a must! They look gorgeous with the scenery, are comfortable and keep you cool. I opted for a lot of blue attire to match the breathtaking landscape. I found a ton of beautiful, affordable dresses at ASOS and that is where I did the majority of my honeymoon shopping.
Rompers and Shorts
Rompers are chic and this one was so comfortable! The bright colors were perfect for Santorini. If you prefer to be more casual, then shorts and t-shirts would be great too. Just pack like you are going on vacation to Florida but be prepared for less humidity, better food, and the most breathtaking views 🙂
Bathing suits and cover-ups
Bathing suit attire is a must! Suprisingly, there aren’t tons of beaches as there are water views. I always tell people when they are looking for a “beach vacation” you are better off in Florida, Mexico, or the Bahamas. Santorini, Greece is better known for its unique views and overall experience. There are tons of hotels with pools and there is black beach (yes, the beach is black because Santorini was made from an erupted volcano).
Either way, it’s important to have beautiful swimsuits because we went to our hotel pool a lot. Our pool was decked out with a full-service bar and gourmet lunch service.
When Victoria Secret stopped selling swimwear I didn’t know what I was going to do! They were my go-to for swimsuits. Fortunately, a lot of department stores have stepped up their swimwear collections. My white swimsuit pictured above is no longer available but Nordstrom has a lot of great (similar) options. I also linked some gorgeous white bathing suits below. Just click the photo and it will direct you to the item. What I love about the Nordstrom swim collection is they mix in affordable and nicer options- so you have so many to choose from!
Hats
It’s not a true vacation without a fun hat! I was able to get this hat from ASOS, which has so many affordable options. While the exact hat I am wearing is no longer available I will link photos of very similar ones below. I really loved getting vacation pieces from ASOS because it’s affordable and trendy. I don’t like spending a lot of money on things that may get lost in hotel rooms or left behind in an airport (by accident, of course.) There is always a risk when traveling that things may get misplaced.
Fortunately, nothing was misplaced on my trip! I had the BEST TIME EVER! I would love to go back one day. The food in Greece was unbelievable. While we were there we also went to Mykonos and Athens. You can check out my travel section for more fashion related travel posts.
