Fact or Fiction?
Is wearing white after Labor Day a fashion faux pas? This “rule” was created in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s by socialites. Decades later, I think it’s fair to say that this notion is dead. I believe it’s more about what fabric you choose than it is about colors. White is chic and fashionable and looks beautiful in the winter on coats, scarves, and blouses. I say rock white all year long.
I live in Florida and wearing white all year is easy to do. With that said, I still think there are ways to wear white in northern climates. White jeans may not be the best option but I love white outerwear. I think it looks sophisticated and expensive. White handbags look elegant too. If you are comfortable with wearing white (use napkins at lunch time!) then go for it! Don’t let outdated rules dictate your fashion choices.
There are no rules in fashion. The way you dress is a creative outlet and allows strangers to see a small piece of who you are. I think that as long as what you are wearing makes you feel happy, confident, and secure then you should rock the look.
Speaking of white after Labor Day, let’s talk about my outfit! I am rocking a white jumpsuit with a plunging neckline. The fabric has some weight which makes it less see-through than a lighter material. I am wearing a pair of my favorite luxury heels the Saint Laurent tribute. To give this outfit some color I accessorized with the beautiful Chloe drew handbag. It comes in many colors but I am wearing coral. I love stacking bracelets!
